MacHygienist is a native macOS app. Scanning and reclaim happen on your Mac.
Local scanning
Disk maps, finding lists, and reports are computed and stored on your device. Scan contents are not uploaded to our servers.
Full Disk Access
Optional Full Disk Access lets MacHygienist measure protected or hidden folders (for example developer caches under your home directory). You grant or revoke this in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Without it, some paths may be skipped or under-counted.
Photos & similar images
Similar-photo detection runs on-device with Apple frameworks (Vision / PhotoKit). Items from the Photos library are removed via PhotoKit (Recently Deleted) — the app does not edit .photoslibrary bundles directly.
Licensing
Pro license activation and validation contact Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record) with your license key and machine identifiers needed for activation limits. Scan results are not included in those requests.
